I was born in 1973 in Frederecia, Denmark and I have been living almost all of my life in rural areas. Living outside of the city naturally meant being outdoors a lot of the time - which probably also fuelled my desire to depict the experiences I had in nature. I have been photographing in nature for about 15-16 years by now - most of this time in Denmark but also in Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Scotland, Norway, Spain, Germany, Italy, USA, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Poland and Greece. This site contains what I consider the best of my recent european nature photography and as I no longer felt the images I have captured in the Faroe Islands and Scotland represent what I am aiming for in my photography those images are excluded as well as those I have taken in USA and the southeast asian countries. All animals on this site are wild and photographed in the wild. Whenever possible I have photographed the animals without manipulating the scene but for some invertebrates (most of the ground beetle species for example) and a few amphibean species I have felt the need to capture the animals in non-poisonous pitfall traps and placed them in the immediate surroundings for photography whereafter they have been released.
